The store

We sell new cameras as listed. Product photos and specifications come from our catalog. Prices are in US dollars. Inventory quantities in Shopify currently read zero on every variant; listings may still be viewed. An order is an offer to buy; we may decline or cancel if a camera cannot be fulfilled, if payment fails, or if we detect fraud. Canceled unfulfilled orders are refunded to the original method.

Accounts and checkout

Checkout runs on Shopify. You must provide an accurate US shipping address. You are responsible for the payment method you use.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape the catalog in a way that degrades the site, attempt to probe checkout for card data, or use the store to launder payments.

Intellectual property

The Chiaroscuro name, this site’s layout, and original copy belong to Chiaroscuro SF LLC. Product photographs are used to sell the cameras they depict. Do not reuse them as your own catalog.

Limitation of liability

Cameras are tools. We are not liable for lost shoots, lost files, or consequential damages beyond the price of the camera, except where the law of Missouri does not allow that limit. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is unlawful.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes that are not required to be heard elsewhere is the state or federal courts serving Springfield, Missouri.
